Bloom Pregnancy Yoga
Session 1 - A space to ground and connect you into your experience of being pregnant. Focusing on useful grounding poses which give you a sense of being stable and balanced in the midst of the busyness of life. Introducing pelvic floor exercises and movements that will facilitate and comfort you through your pregnancy and into labour. Finishing with Golden Thread Breath an amazing tool for meeting contractions and a Mindfulness Body Scan to help you relax and stay present.
Session 2 - In this session we will use our yoga practice to open up to and embrace all the changes that occur in our body and mind during pregnancy. Acknowledging where we are right now in our body and mind and being ok with that place, practicing acceptance and surrender. Gently and mindfully opening up areas in the body that can lose mobility as we progress through pregnancy namely the shoulders, chest, hips and pelvis and begin to explore movements that will encourage a open pelvic area, an optimal foetal position for your baby and aid you through childbirth.
To be pregnant, to give birth and to be a mum, requires strength of body and mind. In this class we will cultivate strength as well as determination, courage and fearlessness to see us through on our journey to motherhood. Mobilising and warming the body and then working into the warrior poses which develop strength and stamina in the legs and arms and help to evoke these inner qualities of body, heart and mind. Preparing ourselves for labour and beyond.
In this session you’ll cultivate a sense of loving kindness towards yourself wholly and completely through a gentle heart opening flow. Knowing that to be able to love and care for your family requires that you take time for yourself. Self care is so important for a mother and yoga offers us this time out, space to breath, acceptance and other heart qualities such as love, joy, compassion. This session will help you to feel the the growing love and bond between your heart and your baby’s heart as you move and sway and be with each other in the moment.
Get your props ready! For this 2 hour immersion into stillness. Relaxation is vital for our health and wellbeing; we just don't do it enough. In this 2 hour evening of restorative yoga you will be gently guided to let go, to let go of tension in the body, let go of the incessant thoughts playing through your mind. Just loosening the grip we all try to have over this ever changing world we live in and allowing things to be as they are just for now as we rest back In stillness. Feeling the release and sense of ease as we surrender into that place. Please see below for props needed from around the home:1. A bolster can be made by wrapping 2 bed pillows in a firm blanket.

3. A rolled blanket
4. 3 cushions (one for your head)

In order to birth our babies we need to feel safe, supported and trust that we have all the inner resources needed. If we don't feel safe and we have fear and anxieties leading up to and in childbirth then our body will close (like literally). In todays session we will release any tension from the body especially in those fight or flight muscles of the neck, shoulder and hip flexors. We will explore favourable birthing positions and spend sometime improving our squat, a highly recommended way to give birth - which is known as a UFO position (upright, forward and open). We will promote mindfulness of breath and bodily sensations to help be more present with the self and baby during the practice and finish with a compassionate body scan to improve relaxation.
For anyone with Pelvic Girdle Pain or Symphysis pubis dysfunction also known as do not come into low squat stay with rockbacks or sit on blocks/support.
